Who is funded? (Eligible to apply)

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial sector, including freelancers from the fields of: 

  • Retail 
  • Gastronomy 
  • Craft enterprises 
  • Haulage companies 
  • Companies in the creative economy 
  • other service providers 

Your business premises are located in the catchment area of a central location with a declining population. Funding is only provided for projects that sustainably establish or permanently improve the entrepreneurial performance of SMEs. A maximum of two applications may be submitted per SME. 

What is funded? (Purpose)
  •  Investments for the construction, expansion, conversion, rationalisation or modernisation of the premises of a business 
  • Relocation of businesses or new settlements 
  • Other investment projects by SMEs with a particular interest in urban development policy 
  • Setting up and relocating businesses in start-up, craft, creative, innovation, commercial and health centres 
  • Investments related to local or environmentally friendly products or services in conjunction with starting up a business or creating accessibility or better reconciling family and career 
  • Support for taking over an existing business or safeguarding the continued existence of an SME 
The funding is granted, in what amount? (The type and amount of support)
  • Partial project funding for investment projects that serve to safeguard and expand existing enterprises, including taking over an existing business and starting/setting up a new business
  • The funding rate is up to 50% of the eligible expenditure.
  • The grant must amount to at least €3000 and not exceed €200,000.
  • Mandatory consultation before submission of an application
