    Funding for continuing education (ESF continuing education guideline)

    Who is funded? (Eligible to apply)
    • Freelancers and sole proprietors who are liable to pay income tax in the State of Brandenburg or who maintain business premises with at least one employee in the state of Brandenburg. 
    • Companies with business premises in the State of Brandenburg within the meaning of Section 12 of the German Tax Code 
    • Associations with legal capacity with their registered office or a branch office or umbrella organisations of these associations in the State of Brandenburg 
    • Public and private child and youth welfare organisations with headquarters or a branch office in the state of Brandenburg 
    What is funded? (Purpose)
    • Participation of employees in professional continuing education programmes for development of expertise in companies and associations and public and private child and youth welfare organisations. 
    • Participation of employees in professional continuing education programmes when setting up a new location, expanding and restructuring companies (Brandenburg service package) 
    The funding is granted, in what amount? (The type and amount of support)

    Continuing education measures can be subsidised with up to 50% of the eligible expenditure. A grant of at least €1000 must be applied for. The grant per participant may not exceed €3000 in each application. Each grant recipient may receive funding once per calendar year. With the Brandenburg service package, special conditions are available for setting up new locations, expanding and restructuring.     De minimis limits and maximum funding rates can be found in the guidelines. All continuing education measures of Continuing Education Guideline 2020 must be completed by 30/06/2022. Continuing education measures running beyond 30/06/2022 are not eligible for funding.
