Target groups
Who is funded? (Eligible to apply)
- Natural persons (entrepreneurs) with their primary residence in Germany with the required commercial qualification and sufficient entrepreneurial decision-making freedom (management authority and at least 10% shareholder share).
- Freelancers and small commercial enterprises with fewer than 50 employees that have been active in the market for less than 5 years. A shareholder must meet the requirements for natural persons.

What is funded? (Purpose)
- Actions to start and consolidate a business, including a second job that is geared toward becoming a full-time job in the medium term, and new foundings of companies, investments, takeovers of existing companies or the acquisition of an active stake
- Initial provision and replenishment of the inventory of goods, materials or spare parts, equipment requirements (including replenishment of the inventory of goods up to €50,000).
Debt rescheduling or refinancing of projects that are already complete is not permitted.
The funding is granted, in what amount? (The type and amount of support)
Loans up to 100% of the borrowing requirement, not to exceed €125,000
- Term: no more than 5 years with 1 year in which the loan is repayment-free, no more than 10 years with up to 2 years in which the loan is repayment-free
- Early repayment with early prepayment fees
- 80% indemnification via KfW
- Disbursement 100%
- No equity capital required
You do not receive your loan directly from KfW but from a financing partner such as your bank.
