Target groups
Who is funded? (Eligible to apply)
- Domestic and foreign commercial enterprises.
- Companies with municipal investment.
- Municipal regional authorities, their own enterprises and special-purpose associations.
What is funded? (Purpose)
- Innovative large-scale pilot projects that benefit the environment on a lasting basis.
- Projects with exemplary character that have not yet been implemented on the market, such as construction projects, machinery and costs of commissioning, including measurements to monitor the success of these initiatives if applicable.
- Particularly in the areas of wastewater treatment/water engineering and waste prevention, recycling and disposal.
- Remediation of contaminated sites, protection of the soil, air pollution control and odour reduction.
- Noise reduction and climate protection, including conserving energy, energy efficiency, use of renewable energies and environmentally friendly energy supply and distribution, resource efficiency and reduction of material usage.
The funding is granted, in what amount? (The type and amount of support)
There are two different options for funding:
- Grant (usually up to 30% of the costs eligible for funding).
- Loan (with an interest subsidy from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU)).
You receive a low-interest loan of no more than 70% of the costs eligible for receiving funding. Preference is given to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
